The mid laner of Natus Vincere, Bogdan “Iceberg” Vasilenko explained why he continues to use Doom on the middle lane. In an interview (Twitch) with Maincast after defeating Team Unique at Dota Pro Circuit 2021: Season 1, he also hinted at a hero to be expected in European Division matches.
Vasilenko believes that Doom has only grown stronger after recent changes, so he will continue to play on it as a mid.
"He's still as strong, we're still going to take him to the first pick. He's even stronger. He has Aghanim's, which gives a cooldown. The reduction of recharge has reduced, plus he's passive now cuts out and his Aghanim's Shard doubles the stun duration [of Infernal Blade] . The hero has only become stronger."
Iceberg said that now NAVI trains only with teams from Europe. According to Vasilenko, in the near future the audience should expect a new hero-illusionist.
"In Europe, the illusionist will appear. <... And OG is playing today? Tomorrow you will see a hero who will appear and be super in the meta."
