Russian esports club Virtus.pro responded to the story of a player in Dota 2 under the nickname TMAdoto, who told on Reddit how the game saves him from suicidal thoughts. Representatives of the organization offered to discuss the situation in a private chat and find possible ways to support.
“u/TMAdoto hey man! Cheers from Virtus.pro. We know it’s a tough moment in your life right now and we would like to find options how we can support fellow Dota player. A lot of young players have minimum to none support from relatives in the start of their careers of esportsmen so we share your pain.
Please reach via DM and let’s discuss on what we can do.”
Earlier TMAdoto told on Reddit how Dota 2 saves him from thinking about suicide. He said he wanted to connect his life with the gaming industry, but did not receive support from loved ones. His parents forced him to go to university, despite his desire to become an esportsman. They called this idea stupid, and his own - nothing. Many Reddit users supported TMAdoto and told similar stories. His post garnered more than 300 positive reviews, but the player did not respond to any of the comments.
