Announced just the day before the OMEGA League Europe qualifiers, the 5men stack, featuring former OG.Seed players joining Rasmus “Misery” Filipsen, Johan “pieliedie” Åström and Marcus “Ace” Hoelgaard, have claimed the first ticket into the $500,000 Immortal division at OMEGA League.
The European qualifiers began on the 1st of August and pitted a total of 16 teams in the battle for one of the two slots into the Immortal division. While most of the stacks that entered the battle are tier 2 calibre, with Europe and CIS young players looking to start the grind towards the tier 1 scene, a couple of the competitors are teams featuring well established players looking to reboot their careers.
5men is the perfect example for that and although the roster was revealed just one day ahead of the qualifiers, Misery and co sailed through the group stage and the playoffs without losing a single series to take down Cyber Legacy 2-0 in the final act.

On their road to the Immortal division, 5men defeated Nikola “LeBronDota” Popović’s stack TEMPO, Danil “Dendi” Ishutin’s newly shuffled B8, the CIS line-up featuring Stanislav “BZZ” Glushan and Ivan “VANSKOR” Skorokhod, and finally Cyber Legacy who gathered under their banner former NAVI and Virtus.pro players.
Unfortunately, for all the teams that got bested so far, there is no other chance at getting into the Immortal competition, but the good news is that the OMEGA League story is not entirely over. They will continue to play through the Divine division for a share of the 50,000 prize pool. While the Immortal division is set to start on the 14th of August, the Divine battle will start tomorrow, August 10.
Until then, there is one more slot to be claimed in the Immortal division and HellRaisers, TEMPO, Team Empire and Vikin.gg will battle for it today starting at 13:00 CET.
