Day 4 of the ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League Group Stage has concluded, with the league holding its first full day featuring three matches.

After the first week of action, T1 topped the standings thanks to a solid run in their busiest stretch of the event.

Reality Rift 1 – 1 Neon Esports

Coming in hot from their deep run at the BTS Pro Series: SEA Season 2, Neon Esports opened their campaign in the SEA League as easy favorites to take down a struggling Reality Rift (RR). However, RR midlaner Hiew “AlaCrity” Teck Yoong put on a show with Storm Spirit and finished with a 17/5/12 KDA to help his team upset Neon in game one.

Neon looked to tie up the series with a strong yet unusual midgame tri-core of a carry Mirana for Andrei “skem” Ong, mid Vengeful Spirit for Erin Jasper “Yopaj” Ferrer, and an offlane Dazzle for Rafael “Rappy” Sicat Palo. Despite their best efforts to defend against Neon’s onslaught, RR conceded after 36 minutes to end the series in a 1-1 tie.

TNC Predator 1 – 1 NEW Esports

The second match of the day saw a surging NEW Esports squad take on a shaky TNC Predator. Yi Liong “ddz” Kok went ham on Void Spirit and finished with a 17/4/19 KDA to lead NEW Esports to a dominant win in game one.

TNC struck back to take a back-and-forth game two and end the series with a 1-1 tie. Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte on Gyrocopter and Armel Paul “Armel” Tabios on a mid Lina both had excellent showings, with Armel notably notching a 13/2/6 stat line.

Team Adroit 1 – 1 T1

The last match of the day saw a clash between Team Adroit and T1. The first game of the series featured T1 carry Galvin “Meracle” Kang Jian Wen put on a clinic with Phantom Assassin, as he finished with an absurd 23-1-15 KDA to lead his team to victory.

Adroit bounced back in game two to end the series in a 1-1 tie. The team’s core duo of John Anthony “Natsumi” Vargas and Mc Nicholson “Mac” Villanueva shone on Phantom Lancer and Void Spirit, respectively, and finished with a combined 26 kills against just four deaths.

T1 finished the first week of the SEA League atop the standings with 7 points from two series wins, one tie, and one loss. This was the busiest stretch of the league for T1, as they only have one match in Week 2 and two in Weeks 3 and 4. Their solid showing in Week 1 gives them a very good chance of making the playoffs after the group stage.

NEW Esports was the biggest surprise of the tournament thus far, as they finished Week 1 with 5 points from one series win and two ties. Despite coming in as a complete unknown, the squad is showing they can definitely roll with the best teams of the region.

Adroit and TNC round out the third and fourth spots in the standings. Adroit has 4 points from four series ties while TNC has 2 points from two ties.

Execration, Neon Esports, and Reality Rift all end Week 1 with just 1 point. Neon had just one match this week, which ended in a tie, while both Execration and Reality Rift had one series loss and a tie.
