Who would win the clash between the team with the highest DPC points and a team that couldn't even qualify for the minor? Well, turns out Nigma's upset in the major and minor qualifiers were a fluke after all. Yesterday, thanks to the WeSave! Charity Play, we get to witness the most epic series between two legendary teams, Team Secret and Nigma. If it wasn't for this event, we probably won't get to watch Nigma for quite a while.
Fortunately, both teams played with their full rosters, allowing us to get a glimpse of what havoc the two teams can cause in a game, and we are not disappointed. The first game turned into an intense “base race” as both teams continuously fought each other, resulting in massacres of heroes for both sides. Yet, Team Secret came out on top in terms of net worth, with an overwhelming 38,000 gold lead. As Team Secret clearly knew that they had the advantage in terms of team fight, they did not hesitate to push into Nigma's base, expecting Nigma to defend against their strength.
But Nigma had a different thought, the thought of fighting their enemies never crossed their mind as Miracle sneaks into Team Secret's base. Team Secret thought that the backdoor protection of their base would be enough to stop Nigma's shameful strategy. Well, the Ancient did not last even 5 seconds as it crumbles to the critical damage dealt by a Riki and a Silencer (who is tethered by an Io). Team Secret just couldn't respond to the ratting!
Nigma learns AdmiralBulldog's ways:
It seems like Silencer's pure damage with 36 stolen intelligence, hits really hard, with Desolator and Assault Cuirass together. Topped with Miracle's Riki holding the Orb of Destruction neutral item, the Dire Ancient has 16 armor removed! Nigma clearly had no intention of having a fair fistfight, considering w33's item build where he rushes Desolator and Assault Cuirass in late game. After that crazy game 1, it is only justifiable for Nigma to take the second game too.
Team Secret put up a good effort to play the second game but once again, Nigma just drafted better with a hard carry Furion by Miracle and Necrophos offlane by Mind_Control. The duo supports, Nyx Assassin and Bounty Hunter, makes it easy for Nigma to hunt heroes, especially the elusive Void Spirit that their former teammate, Matumbaman, played in this game.
Thus, the strongest team in DPC leaderboards just fell to the likes of a team that had so much hate recently for not making it to the major or minor. I would go as far to say that Team Liq…I mean Nigma, is back! Of course, Nigma fans, stay tuned as Nigma faces Team Liquid later today.
