It’s elimination series again for TNC versus Liquid on the fourth day at Leipzig major. Both teams were on the brim of elimination since they placed last in their respective groups but here they are once again, playing for the top 8 finish.
In game 1, it was a stomp by Team Liquid who had really good midgame draft such as Drow Ranger and Viper as cores. But what makes it even worse (for TNC to deal with) are Slardar and Treant Protector being really durable heroes that provide good vision and initiation. TNC could not get out of their base and when they hop to be able to at least split push the lanes to buy some time, they just get caught out by Slardar and other heroes. Liquid took game 1 with ease.
However, heading into game 2, TNC looked much stronger now, featuring Tims on Disruptor. Facing Morphing by miCKe, the Static Storm and Kinetic Field combo is the only reliable disable against the pesky Morphling. Even with so much threat it poses, Morphling never went for BKB but Ethereal Blade was enough for him and probably because Tims could get Scepter which makes BKB useless anyways. With that, the rest of Liquid could never really take a fight too far from their base as almost none of TNC’s heroes are easy pickings, except for the supports. After a long game of hunting down Morphling, TNC finally could push high ground and managed to catch miCKe off-guard and kill him twice. With no buybacks, GG is called. Of course, let’s not forget to acknowledge iNSaNiA’s Oracle which he has been spamming literally every game and it works really well even if this game didn’t go in favour of Liquid.

With the series tied and TNC looking back in shape, the final game turned out to be even more epic but unfortunately for TNC and its fans, Taiga’s Blackholes were too damn big to face. In game 3, it was a constant spam of Blackholes every time it’s up for Taiga’s Enigma. Taiga even managed to jungle so quick that he got a 9 minutes Blink Dagger and that’s when the insanity begins as all TNC hears all game are the sound of Blackhole being casted. It didn’t take long before Enigma gets its BKB, which means nobody can stop him no more and then Refresher Orb, because a 4-seconds stun is not enough. Here’s just one of the many Blackholes casted by Taiga’s Jungling Enigma.

Thus, Team Liquid continues their lower bracket winning spree as they proceed closer to the finals. Later today, they face their EU rivals, Alliance, which is also their former team they played for back in TI9 and earlier. Will Team Liquid claim the title as the Lower Bracket Kings? Stay tuned to find out.
