As announced today (https://store.steampowered.com/news/57029/), Valve continues their quality adjustments on matchmaking.
The first update returns the much-requested solo matchmaking in fast queue games. To enable this, go to Settings > Options > Advanced Options > Miscellaneous and check the box that shows the option.
Because of these adjustments, other party combinations are validated to reduce queue times and increase matchmaking quality. This means that a 2-2-1 matchmaking lineup is now possible again. The next part focuses on players who have a large difference in core and support MMRs. This update now adds a 1 medal (5 star) maximum difference between MMRs. When this difference is reached, both MMRs will rise and fall equally. For example, if a player is at Ancient 1 Core and Legend 1 Support, then he queues for a core match which he gains +25 points after. The +25 will also be added to your Support MMR as well, if you lose MMR on one role, then equal points will be deducted to the other MMR. This change only applies to players who will exceed the difference of about 800 – 1000 MMR points on their roles. So players who will have a larger difference will have their MMRs adjusted to fit the clamp.
With this update, how are your MMRs doing? Share your thoughts in the comments and stay tuned for more!
