Majestic Esports made waves in Croatia last month at the OGA Dota PIT Minor, where they finished top four. Unfortunately, the player ran organization at the time didn’t last long. Immediately after the tournament the team swapped two players out, renamed themselves to Team Anvorgesa and went to open qualifiers for the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 2.
With Chaos Esports Club moving away from the South American region and with PaiN Gaming already qualified for the last Major of the season, SA regional qualifiers for the SL ImbaTV Minor were wide open. Only four teams fought for the one ticket available to Kiev. Two received direct invites from the organizers and two made it via open brackets.
Team Anvorgesa were the second seed of the open qualifiers and went on upsetting all their more experienced adversaries to claim the qualifier slot. On their path to victory, they took down Enzo “Timado” Gianoli’s Ego Boys team, the Chongqing Major SA representative, Thunder Predator and Alonso “Kotarō Hayama” León’s Gorrilaz-Pride. Much like in Croatia, the five boys playing now under Team Anvorgesa tag, fought a fierce battle, brought Meepo in their drafts when needed, out played their adversaries with unorthodox heroes like an offlane Chaos Knight and made perfect use of what seems to be one of their favorite heroes, Templar Assassin.
Team Anvorgesa roster from position 1 to 5:
Hector Antonio “K1” Rodriguez
Jean Pierre “Chris Brown” Gonzales
Adrian “Wisper” Cespedes Dobles
Diego “Jericho” Rivera
Steven “StingeR” Vargas
South American qualifiers concluded the competition for the eight tickets up for grabs for the StarLadder ImbaTV Minor. This will be the last minor of the 2018-2019 Dota Pro Circuit season and unlike all the other Minors this year, SL ImabaTV will send two teams to the Major. The Champions and the runner up team will join the 14 qualified teams for the EPICENTER 2019 Major.
SL ImbaTV Minor will take place June 12-16 at the Cybersport Arena from Kiev, Ukraine with $300,000 on the line and 500 DPC points on the line.
