The ELEAGUE Premier 2018 recently concluded, where the grand final between Astralis and Team Liquid saw the Danish side make quick work of the local representatives, defeating Liquid with a 2-0 map record. Initially the teams faced off on Inferno, where Astralis dominated with a 14-1 T side, followed by a 16-5 conclusion. Map two, Nuke, saw Liquid put up more fight, as an 8-7 lead was initially accrued on the CT side. Subsequently said lead was conceded, as the Danish squad dominated on the defence, concluding the tournament and series at a 16-12 score line.
Prior to commencement of the grand final, ELEAGUE teased an upcoming event, scheduled to take place in Jan. 2019. The announcement was briefly broadcasted on stream, with little information available regarding the specifics on where it will be hosted and the formatting of the event.
As of Jul. 2017, ELEAGUE have successfully hosted two Major tournaments - ELEAGUE Atlanta 2017, ELEAGUE Boston 2018, two ELEAGUE Seasons in 2016 and two premier events in 2017 and 2018. In addition to these full-fledged events, the Atlanta-based tournament organiser hosted Clash for Cash: The Rematch, where Atlanta Major 2017 finalists Astralis and Virtus.pro duked it out for $250,000 in a best-of-3 showmatch, and the ELEAGUE: Road to Vegas, where OpTic Gaming faced off against CSGL, with the victor securing a spot at ELEAGUE Season 1.
