Another day, another set of awesome dotes as the day 2 of the Group Stage has concluded. It is only the second day of The International but it looks like all teams have taken their games up a notch as a lot of lead changes and surprises gave us incredible games. Let us take a look at how the teams adjusted from Day 1.
Team Secret remains undefeated in Group A as they finish Day 2 with 8 points as they breeze through Keen Gaming in two quick victories.
PSG.LGD retains the second spot with 8 points after ending with 1-1 against Newbee as they fail to close out the 2nd game that ended at 67 minutes. For their second series this day, LGD clinched two games from Team Liquid.
Mineski and TNC swapped places as Mineski ended Day 2 with a 5-3 standing, while TNC ended with 5-5. Coming from the eighth place on Day 1, Alliance managed to balance their score at 4-4 to end Day 2 with 4 points. Because of this, Newbee, Team Liquid, and Keen Gaming stepped down a place as they ended Day 2 with 4, 3, and 2 points, respectively.
Unfortunately, Matumbaman and the squad continues their woes as they lost their only series to Mineski 0-2 to retain themselves at ninth place.
Meanwhile, OG managed to nab their way to the top spot of Group B with 9 points as they took a 6-0 run with the help of Ana’s carry IO on two games against NiP. The revenge story also continues with OG sweeping EG in two 30 minute games and taking an easy series against RNG.
Na’Vi now takes the second spot with 7 points. Meanwhile, VG end their clean run as Infamous takes one game from them and EG taking a series that put down VG to third place. After a poor performance on Day 1, the Boys in Blue entered top 4 with 5 points. Infamous also showed determination as they move three places up with 4 points followed by Fnatic that exited the top 4 after adding 1-3 to their win-lose ratio. The Bears also topple down to seventh place after Na’Vi and VG took a series each. Winning 1 game against Fnatic, NiP get themselves out of ninth place to be replaced by RNG.
With the Day 3 approaching, what surprises or unconventional hero roles will emerge? Will Team Secret continue their clean run? Will it be the day where OG continues to be unstoppable? Share your thoughts in the comments and stay tuned for more!
