Team Sirius have seen a host of changes to their roster before they had even played their first event – but now that they have, they’ve made another change.
Sirius played their first official event in the Dota 2 Pro Circuit over this weekend as they entered the Chinese regional qualifiers for EPICENTER. Unfortunately for the squad, they were unable to progress out of the group stages and thus decided to make another change before they took on the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor qualifiers. Jiang “天命” An was confirmed as joining the squad – moving from his inactive spot on the roster.
He replaces Liu ‘Freeze/Kamma’ Chang, but moves into the position 5 role on the team. The removal of Freeze meant that the carry position was open once again and this was quickly filled by Liu ‘Sylar’ Jiajun.
While this change came shortly before their Minor qualifier run kicked off, it seems to have been for the best as Sirius have already secured themselves a spot in the Chinese bracket’s playoffs – causing the downfall of Newbee from the event this morning.
It remains to be seen just how much this change can do for the squad but tomorrow will see them in action once more as the CN Minor qualifiers come to an end.
