MDL Disneyland® Paris Major is their first Dota Pro Circuit event this season and their first LAN appearance in exactly one year.
Team Empire haven’t been on a LAN since EPICENTER XL back in May 2018. Their roster changed completely since then and after a hard fought season they’ve finally managed to break the ice and qualify for the second to last Major. It’s only them and Virtus.pro representing the CIS region at the upcoming MDL Disneyland® Major, but unfortunately, Team Empire arrived on the eve of April 30 in Paris without their support player Oleg “sayuw” Kalenbet.
According to a post made on his Vk page by the Team Empire Esports Director, mister Alexander “StrangeR” Solomonov, sayuw is still waiting for his visa to be approved. “Despite the fact that the documents were handed in a long time ago, sayuw’s passport is yet to be returned,” said StrangeR. The Consulate and the visa centre in Moscow were closed on the 1st of May, the international labour day, and Team Empire are yet to receive a response regarding the French visa for their support player.
“If the Visa is not sorted out during the next couple of days, we will be forced to play with a stand-in,” added Team Empire’s esports Director. No other details were given in regards with whom might be standing in for them, nor an update on sayuw’s Visa. Team Empire are scheduled to play their first series at MDL Disneyland® Paris Major on May 4th at 10:00 CEST against Team Secret.
