The World Showdown of Esports reached its pinnacle in the early hours of the morning as Team Serenity tried to defend their title from the hands of J.Storm.
With Chu ‘Shadow’ Zeyu joining the Serenity squad and Clinton ‘Fear’ Loomis holding firm with J.Storm, a battle of TI champions was brewing for the grand finals – and it delivered in spectacular fashion. With a best-of-five series to decide the victor of WSOE#6, both teams threw everything at one and gave us some amazing Dota 2 action. After a full five games, it was J.Storm who came out ahead and claimed the title of WSOE Dota 2 champions.
The victory is the team’s first win at any LAN event together and it goes a long way to affirm their standing in the North American Dota 2 scene. J.Storm walk away with the $50,000 first place prize, with Serenity taking $20,000 for second place. With this victory, J.Storm can take a small break after they removed themselves from ESL One Mumbai, which begins tomorrow.
