In late July 2018 Beyond the Summit announced the 10th iteration of its Dota Summit tournamentwhich was set to be held in December of this year. However, due to many reasons, it seems that BTS have had to postpone the event until a later date some time in the new year.
In a TwitLonger post from earlier today, David ‘Godz’ Parker confirmed that the event ran into issues with confirmation of teams and visa issues too, which pushed them to postponing the Dota Summit 10 until they were assured of a near-perfect event. Godz continued to apologize to both teams and fans alike who were looking forward to the event but assured everyone that an epic tournament would still be in store when the time came in 2019.
The Summit 10 was scheduled as a non-Dota 2 Pro Circuit event which would take place in mid-December 2018 – from the 12th to the 18th but after the likes of Forward Gaming withdrew due to the team competing at the upcoming MegaFon Winter Clash, it would seem that BTS found it difficult to find any replacements and were forced into postponing. While no new dates have been set for Dota Summit 10, it will definitely take place in-between DPC Minor and Major Qualifiers, so that the teams have enough time to prepare for these.
While Godz did state that he hopes FWD will still compete at the new dates, nothing is confirmed yet. We will update you on any and all details of Dota Summit 10’s new schedule as soon as they become available.
