There is plenty of time left until mid-December, when the tenth edition of DOTA Summit is set to commence, but that doesn’t stop the organizers to already run the qualifiers for the event. Played under the King’s Cup 2 tag, the qualifiers for North and South America came to a conclusion last night.
Ten squads were invited to duke it out in a Round Robin two-game series group stage leading into a single elimination playoffs bracket. However, two teams were considered tier 1 invite and were deployed straight into the playoffs, namely Forward Gaming from NA and paiN Gaming from SA. The intended format was that at the end of the group stage the top two teams advanced into the playoffs, but a day after the games started paiN Gaming decided to withdraw from the competition and therefore the organizers allowed one more squad to make the cut to the playoffs.

With just four teams fighting in the playoffs for the one ticket to DOTA Summit 10, the semifinals were Forward Gaming vs coL and paiN X vs J.Storm with Forward Gaming and J.Storm prevailing over their opponents. The two finalist clashed last night in a best-of-five finals, which concluded in about one hour and a half, as Forward Gaming , Major attendees, made quick work of J.Storm.
King’s Cup 2 is held in two regions and following the exact same format as for Americas, Beyond the summit invited 10 team from Southeast Asia to fight for one qualifiers spot.
